"It is written on the fence" (2020-)

Male naked genitals have been depicted since ancient times, where the penis was a symbol of fertility. During the Middle Ages, he was associated with the demonic, devilish. Hundreds of years have passed, and the members continue to be depicted on the walls of fences and houses. For what?

My photo project is not a scientific analysis - it is just an attempt to understand a question that has long interested me: “Why do people so often depict the male sexual organ in public places, or write its name on the fence?”

There is no single, clear answer to this question. I'm guessing some versions:

1.The release of accumulated aggression.

2.Desire for power, victories and more sexual partners.

3.A symbolic show of strength.

4.Threat to enemies.

5.Teenagers transcend taboos.

6.Protest (actions of 1991 of the “THESE” movement “D*ck*  on Red Square”, “ D*ck* in captivity at the FSB” of the art group “Voina” in 2010).

7.The manifestation of the animal nature of man

8.Designation of own territory.
